throw away your dslrs and p&s...

...that's what i've heard from yesterday's free photography seminar. digital cameras and it's accessories are already obsolete. they're just going with the latest trends according to him. actually, he's a photographer and instructor using film camera.

thru his explanations, he pounded each accessories and parts the digital has and less or none for the film. quite biased eh? you can just imagine him carrying all the stuffs with portable hard drive, card reader, different storage devices, batteries, pda and mobile phone. i just smiled.

yes, 100% i agree with the quality of film over digital, the fine details and can be resized without compensating it's quality. digital photography is just a baby compared to film and manufacturers are there to make it improve everyday, just like the evolution of transportation. we're not reinventing the wheel but we're improving it. some people just can't grasp the convenience (and downsides) of technology.

and if you're asking if i enroll the full course, no. i prefer to learn by myself and keep the ball rolling instead rather than debating and discussing who's the best.

You hit it on the head bro! You cannot compare DSLRs to film cameras its like comparing a Ferrari to a bus according to Ken Rockwell.

DSLRs = Ferarri = Speed
Film = bus = more pixels

Although DSLRs are considered disposables. :o( bhuhuhuhu and D200 is darn expensive!

That man reminds me of those acoustic instrument purists who despised digital keyboards, sampling technology and sequencers. Well' we still have those tech gizmos and continually improving!

I do not have money to buy dslr so I'm shooting film right now... But I love both shooting digital and analog, both have its own character.

ganon? ang mahal pa naman ng mga DSLRS!

I will buy the manual cam when I'm as good as you na. In the mean time, I will settle for my reliable point and click digital cam :)

fadge: sayo muna. ehehe.

anon: thanks for reminding me. he's comparing it and using ken's tutorial samples. sad part though was he's exaggerating it. ferrari and bus, same types different purpose.

senor: bah, purists. whoever unsinful in this world can throw stones upon me. :)

diong: versatility as it's best. thanks for dropping by.

duke: true but try to assess on which you will spend less in the long run (i.e. more developing films rather than one cf card and the like). photography is one of the expensive hobbies.

Digital Photography is just young compare to Film photography which bee around for ages. Well to date digital hasn't surpassed Film in terms of quality but digital is getting there slowly and surely.
I shoot in both medium I still enjoy shooting with Film and do it from time to time since I started with Film specially now I'm into Lomography.
