go kart go!
yesterday, i finally able to meet up with my friend, mitch, who was visiting here in the sandlands. she was assigned by her company for three months and i was invited if i wanted to go karting. though i felt bored, i tagged along.the karting track is located at the dubai autodrome, a 25-minute car ride from the city proper. i didn't join with the racers since i would like to practice panning shots.
"in photography, panning technique is used to suggest fast motion, and bring out foreground from background. in photographic pictures it is usually noted by a foreground subject in action appearing still (i.e. a runner frozen in mid-stride) while the background is streaked and/or skewed in the apparently opposite direction of the subject's travel." - wikipedia
ready and all psyched up

ready and asleep

the racers

though the timing of the day was unfavorable (3-5pm), i did manage to get good ones by overexposing it. though some of my panning shots were so-so, it was fun practicing and be back to autodrome next time (and driving a kart as well..hehe).
