al qasr

a birthday celebrant invited us to spend a few drinks inside the arabesque-looking hotel called al qasr. one of three hotels of madinat jumeirah (jumeirah city), which managed by jumeirah group, al qasr is a mansion style hotel surrounded by water, ancient windtowers, pools, and serene waterways.

we stayed at koubba bar and found a spot to do our nightscapades. the manager told us not to shoot and realized later on that we have permission from the top to have our "sessions" since the celebrant works at the same company.

carpe diem (or night that is...)

shots were taken using bulb setting on small apertures (f8-f16), mounted on a tripod. lens used were 10-20mm uwa lens with ND4 filter, 18-70mm kit lens, and 70-200mm vr 2.8 (aka longnose).

My point and shoot Nikon won't give justice to night-shots. I tried so hard - not working. I need a more serious camera once I master how to shoot angles and outdoor frames.

Beautiful spot. Beautiful city.
