before my relatives came to visit, i already arranged their itinerary for two days. it wasn’t enough to show everything around the city and i picked only the notable spots in dubai. one of them was visiting “at the top” of burj khalifa.
currently known as the tallest building in the world, i pre-booked our trip to the observation deck located at 124th floor. normally, we prefer to look down the skyline once you are at the top. instead i chose to look upwards and there i saw a perspective.
in these photos, i felt like i’m aboard in a spacecraft from another galaxy.

the time was almost noon and lighting was terribly harsh. shooting upwards mean the light strikes directly to the lens and we don’t want that. instead, i blocked myself from the sunlight using the trellis on the left frame. the cool thing that happened was the flare which gave an eerie effect.
i used circular polariser to increase contrast and further processed using adobe lightroom.
