bird’s eye view

it was almost a perfect time to visit at the top. we were blessed with clouds and lighting was directly above the buildings, minimizing shadows. unfortunately we can’t have it all due to hazy conditions which obscured parts of dubai. in any case, i enjoyed the scenery using my wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

the photo above is the initial view from the observation deck. facing the arabian gulf, you will find the residential areas of jumeirah and satwa on the left side of the frame. also, the gold structure below is the newly-constructed metro station. the financial and business district of sheikh zayed road are located on your right.

formerly known as defence roundabout, the first interchange is undergoing for expansion along sheikh zayed road. it connects to jumeirah, the dubai mall, financial road and burj khalifa.

the pointed glass structure below is dusit dubai.

below is the close-up view of dubai drydocks, dubai’s tallest flag mast (center) and some residential buildings of satwa.

facing west, there were lots of construction going on. burj al arab, palm jumeirah and the dubai marina can also be seen from afar.

zoomed in from the previous photo, you will find old and new villas.

and right below burj khalifa you will findĀ  “the palace” hotel, souk al bahar and downtown residences.

  2. Beautiful photography. I think I would be afraid of heights up there. I was hoping you’d have some pics from there.

  3. Really stunning shots! I assume you’re traveling with 2 awesome Nikon models. Your twitter account got me here in your blogsite and I find your shots very interesting especially the topmost image. Really Terrific Dubai, though I haven’t been to that place yet. Keep it up!
