khor dubai

nikon d300, 70mm, f4, 1/500sec, iso100

khor dubai, also known as the dubai creek, is a body of saltwater which divided the old city into two sections – deira and bur dubai. on the second day of my relatives’ visit, we took them for a city tour. we started venturing bur dubai first then crossed the creek via abra towards deira. enroute to deira, i saw these two empty abras resting in the middle while the day of the metropolis was busy.

i accidentally back-focused the frame and forgot to set a smaller aperture (f8). instead i used a large one (f4) that caused a shallow depth of field.  it could have been better if the two abras were focused instead.  i chose to convert the image to sepia giving an old-looking feel.
