sheikh zayed grand mosque

nikon d300, f8, 1/800secs, 10mm, iso800

this week, we will feature the zayed grand mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. currently the largest in uae, it is also ranked 8th in the world. together with our fellow shutterbugs from mideast snipers and non-photography friends, we decided to visit this religious landmark of abu dhabi.

excited to capture this massive architectural wonder, i committed my first boo-boo. as i rushed to the front entrance of the mosque, everything was in perfect composition. unfotunately, i forgot to check my iso settings which caused digital noise on a bright sunny day.

lesson of this shot: check your camera settings first before you get too excited.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a great work of construction. If any one really wants to see the art of engineering and construction must visit this mosque. Its sight is really unforgettable and one of the exciting thing in this mosque is the massive carpet on its floor.
