the deira fish market is a fodder for environmental portraits. the surroundings or background is the key element in environmental portraiture. capturing the people working in the market is interesting and always new to see.

the mood was lighter that day when we visited the dubai creek once more. as we were heading back to the abra station, i saw these two patans resting from a mid-day rest. though i was few meters away from them, i asked permission by raising my camera and raised my hand. they nodded as a sign of affirmation. i returned the favor by gesturing a peace sign. one guy replied with the same message.
language barriers are common here but the power of hands helped in connecting people. the lens helped in capturing the moment.

another year has passed and just like any other photographer, we highlight the year in pictures. as we look back, these are bits and pieces that occured for the past twelve months. it has been a quiet year for me in photography but to say at least, still was a blast.
happy new year everyone!

once again, it was good to see our friends from the uk who came and visit to dubai. they invited us to their hotel for dinner at the junsui restaurant in burj al arab. “junsui” means pure in japanese, it caters purely asian cuisine such as thai, indonesian, korean, chinese and japanese.
