normally, weddings should be simple and sweet. capturing them being happy was inevitable. prior to the big day, the couple asked me to avoid too much sweet shots. we decided to inject some “bonnie and clyde” look and feel. this shot was taken after the couple just finished exchanging vows at the altar. while resting in their hotel room, i looked and saw this vintage decoration of the bed.

a perfect scene where east meets west.

a wedding is the most important day in a loving couple’s life. every minute counts and making sure the job of a wedding photographer captures it.

as the bride was preparing her hair and make-up, it was the best time for me to capture the details of the couple’s belongings. from clothing to favorite toys, it was ideal to include it on their special day.

a simple but stylish wedding rings were placed on a wooden side table. i picked up the paper origami cranes and used it as background. using a macro lens, i opened up the aperture for a shallow depth of field. in japanese culture,  it symbolises loyalty and honor. in relation to the wedding, it was the bride’s lineage. as for the groom’s personality, i converted the image to black and white and added a touch of film noir.

over the years, i haven’t acquired new glass for my arsenal. it was enough for me to cover all the focal ranges from wide to telephoto. if it wasn’t for the upcoming wedding coverage of a friend, probably i’m not buying this glass and spend on a vacation trip instead.
