i was hesitant not to bring my infrared-converted camera on my vacation. adding extra kilo on my luggage is hard and tricky for travelling but knowing philippines have lots of foliage and fluffy clouds, i took the risk.

i made the right decision.

i am looking for a suitable photo for our new set of photo frames. while digging in the archives, i came across this shot when i was scouting a location in discovery gardens on broad daylight. there is nothing much to say about this photo but somehow i like how the light and shadows played.

it has been three years since i got a proper massage. i was fortunate to experience this gift to get an hour of treatment at the shuiqi spa and fitness at atlantis. shuiqi means water (shui) and the energy flow of activity (qi), which both are beautifully embodied in the spa’s concepts, colours and sounds.

lately, i’ve been practicing infrared outdoors where the sun was its peak. they say that in traditional photography, high noon doesn’t give the most creative light for landscape photographers but its a different story for ir. i decided to endure the 40-degree summer heat of the sandlands just for the sake of getting the right shot.
