although dogs are branded as man’s best friend, the pitbull is coined a fearsome and notorious breed. mostly used in dog fighting, they are either restricted or banned in some of the countries due to poor representation in the media.

over the weekend, we visited the dubai pet show for the third time. a once in a year event wherein pets can “socialise” freely, the organisers found an amazing playground for the canines at the 7evens (sevens), a rugby stadium at the outskirts of dubai. as one of the proud owners of pets, we took raby for an all-day walk and play.

as we cover each hall of the exhibition, we passed these three portraits hanging on the wall/shelves of one big local petroleum company. it is a common practice in government and some private offices to hang their previous and current monarch as a sign of respect. they are the rulers of abu dhabi.

the abu dhabi international petroleum exhibition and conference (adipec) is the meeting place of international oil and gas community. after days of work in our little cubicles, we were given a task to take photos of the exhibition stands, including ours, showcased there. i’m not particularly interested about the oil and gas industry but these vials caught my attention. as stated on the brochure of one company, the liquids in the vials are probably natural gas, petroleum hydrocarbons, and interstitial water.
