normally, weddings should be simple and sweet. capturing them being happy was inevitable. prior to the big day, the couple asked me to avoid too much sweet shots. we decided to inject some “bonnie and clyde” look and feel. this shot was taken after the couple just finished exchanging vows at the altar. while resting in their hotel room, i looked and saw this vintage decoration of the bed.
a perfect scene where east meets west.

paula was the first model to be photographed by our group during a fun shoot of camera club of dubai. i was invited by a colleague to give some pointers to their members. although glam and fash was not my cup of tea, i applied a few tricks and experience in portraiture. among the models, her costume was bright and joyful. the color pink would always be a happy one. i decided to challenge myself with a different mood yet with a little seduction.
the solution: location and lighting.

uliana was such a natural in the scene i made for her. she was dressed as a ferocious yet stylish bird with long feathers. looking for a goth-looking approach, i found a small room with dirty tiles and walls and placed an empty cage, feathers and dead pigeons scattered around the construction site.

it took a lot of time looking for a perfect place for an angel. most of the portrayals were either fallen ones or very bright and angelic. the concept was to be in both categories.
